**Application submission begins at NOON Thursday, July 1**
**Deadline to submit materials is 11:59 p.m. Thursday, July 15**

We appreciate your interest in participating in this upcoming year's Sunbelt Minority Recruitment Program. Information regarding prescreen materials, uploading documents and instructions for how to apply to Sunbelt employers are below:

What are prescreen materials and how do I know if an employer is requesting any?

When you apply for an employer through the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module, any resume and other documents you submit will be accessible to the employer. This stage is called "prescreening." The employer will review all of the resumes and select the students they prefer to interview.

To aid in this decision-making process, some employers ask for additional materials (such as a transcript, writing sample, cover letter and/or a list of references) in addition to your resume. Additional prescreen materials are noted in the [ Document ] column when you review each employer's registration (in the [ Bid Details ] box on the right-hand side). Any items requested at prescreen must be uploaded onto the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module before applying. You will not be allowed to apply unless all requested materials are submitted.

How do I upload my documents? Do they need to be .pdfs?

Students must first upload a resume, as well as a transcript and other requested documents, onto the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module before applying to employers by selecting the [ Documents ] tab and following the instructions.

If you have the ability to convert Word documents into .pdf documents, always convert your documents to .pdf prior to uploading them on the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module. This will eliminate any conversion errors with the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module.

If you do not have .pdf conversion software (such as Adobe), you may upload your Word document to the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module, which will convert it for you. However, please be aware that if your Word document contains excessive formatting or macros, or if it was created using a template, the format may be altered during the conversion process.

Once your document is uploaded and converted to a .pdf, be sure to open and view the .pdf document to ensure that there have been no format alterations. If the format on your document changes during the conversion, you may need to modify the format of your Word document and re-upload it to the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity Module. If you continue to have difficulties, please contact your Career Services Office.

How do I apply with employers?

1) Login to the Sunbelt Consortium Symplicity: https://law-sunbelt-csm.symplicity.com/students
2) Click on the [ Job Fair ] tab on the top navigation bar.
3) Click on the [ Employers/Bidding/Application ] tab.
4) Filter the employer list by selecting [ Sunbelt 2010: August 27 ] from the [ Session ] drop-down menu. The session may default automatically. The resulting list of employers contains only those that have requested your class year. These are employers you are eligible to submit (apply) your resume to.
5) Click the [ Apply ] or [ Review ] button from the list of employers. You will then be redirected to a review page. If you do not see the [ Apply ] button, it is because you have not uploaded your resume. Be sure to do this.
6) To apply, click the [ Apply ] button in the [ Bid Details ] box to the right of the screen. **Pay close attention to this box. If a document type is listed here, it is a REQUIRED document for this specific employer. For example: If [cover letter] is in this box, and [none found] is to the right, you must return to the [ Documents ] section and upload a cover letter.
7) Note: Your [ default resume ] will be included with each application. To change your resume (or any required documents), select the appropriate document from the drop down in the [ Bid Details ] box.
8) The prescreen materials each employer has requested will be noted in the [ Documents ] column.
